Story of Keaton Jones the Bullied Boy

On Friday, the boy’s mother, Kimberly Jones, posted the video on her Facebook page, shortly after picking up Keaton from school because her son was too afraid and upset to go to lunch. The Knoxville, Tennessee, boy describes having milk poured on him and being called ugly for the head scars left from a tumor operation.

But the attention also drew public curiosity and the surfacing of the prior social media posts from Kimberly Jones, Keaton’s mother. In addition to pictures of confederate flags, the old posts crudely criticize Colin Kaepernick and others protesting police brutality against black Americans. Some accounts include allegations of racism against the 11-year-old boy, saying he was bullied because he used racial epithets.

Lam is also trying to make sure he is in touch with the real Kimberly Jones. He said someone got in touch with him saying he was a family friend after he started the Go Fund Me campaign, and gave him the email of someone he said was Kimberly Jones.

Keaton Jones became a viral sensation over the weekend, after his mother posted a video of him describing bullying and harassment by his classmates. Jones’ heart string-tugging story drew widespread support, including from “Reading Rainbow” host LeVar Burton and “Captain America” actor Chris Evans, the latter of whom invited the boy to the next “Avengers” premiere.
